The CHARLES Foundation is a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization created to help at-risk children. Our work is centered on improving the lives of young people, bringing opportunities to our neighborhoods, and working to end gun violence.

Updates and Events

The CHARLES Foundation would like to extend our deepest condolences to the families of the 17 people executed in Parkland, Florida. No family should have to suffer this loss. We are just seven weeks into the 2018 and we have already had 8 school shootings and 30 mass shootings in the United States. With only 45 says into the new year, 134 people have been injured and 58 people have been murdered as a result of lax and nonexistent gun laws.

The CHARLES Foundation will continue to work to fight for COMMON SENSE gun reform to protect our citizens. We need your help! We need you to call your legislator and tell them to vote “NO” to HR 38 (Concealed Carry Reciprocity).

The District Attorney's Office of Victim Services is formulating it's first Crime Victims Advisory Committee (CVAC). CVAC will include crime victims from across the spectrum to help guide victim services and policy related to service delivery out of the DAO. If you are interested in sitting on the committee please call and leave your name and phone number at 215 686 8026. Our main goal for CVAC is to educate and raise the voices of victims and eliminate secondary and residual systemic trauma to crime victims.
