I want to thank Dorothy Johnson-Speight and Mother's In Charge for inviting my husband and me to the dinner and panel in South Philly last night. I had previously contacted Commissioner Ramsey and Councilwoman Blackwell to attend the Gala. The Commissioner cannot attend because he has a previously scheduled event but Councilwoman Blackwell has accepted our invitation and we are soo excited to have her!!! At the event last night I had the opportunity to speak with Judge Kevin Dougherty and he has pledged his support to our cause. The Lord is bringing everything together!

I hope you have taken a look at the website to see what's new. We would like to thank the corporate and individual donors for their contributions. Everything donated helps and moves us toward our goal of helping children. Our children are in a bad state these days and it is through the contributions of people like you that we will make a difference. We ar hoping to sell out the banquet and we have lots of tickets available for the raffle. We will deliver the tickets to your door if that is more convenient for you. Tickets will be sold at the door of the Gala as well. Please continue to support us in our efforts.

The foundation will be hosting its' first fundraiser on Saturday, September 24, 2011. We will be hosting a formal event at the Enterprise Center, historical site of Dick Clark's American Bandstand. There will also be a drawing for some amazing prizes. We are looking to raise $50,000. over the next year to implement renovations for the group home which is located in the University City area. Our hope is to host a formal every year in September around Charles' birthday.

We have created the charity and we are now in the process of creating the web page. Our family is so excited to try to save children in Charles' memory. While our loss is great and our grief still overwhelming to help another gives us the strength we need to continue on this journey of recovery. Charles will never be forgotten. He is imbedded in our hearts forever.
